Suiting up more than a hundred years ago, running back/safety "Chic" Harley is credited with bringing the Ohio State Buckeyes to national prominence. He was honored as Ohio State's first consensus first-team All-American, and he was a member of the College Hall of Fame's inaugural class in 1951. Another honor was bestowed on Harley in 1927, when Chic Harley Day was held at Ohio Stadium.
Presented is a Harley signed program from the occasion. Held on 11/24/27, this Thanksgiving Day exhibition game pitted the Ohio State All-Stars against the U.S. Army squad. This scarce program rates as (FR), and consists of eight pages, counting the front and back covers, and it is without rosters or photos. Located on the front at right, Harley's ("8-9") strength black steel-tip fountain pen autograph and "Sincerely" sentiment, make this already scarce piece an exceedingly rare football treasure.
